Exploring different styles of painting hydrangea flowers
39 x 49cm Oil on Canvas, box framed in sustainable Beech Summer in the hills brings an abundance of Hydrangeas and I was keen to explore this subject in some all over floral compositions. I love the different shades of blues, purple, pinks and white the hydranges come in, the very same bush can producce a combination of these colours. The bushes are at their peak between November and Feb, by late march they begin to turn just like the autumnal trees. Some of the flowers then become the most increadible shades of deep purple and burgundy.
