For each spider, gather eight pipe cleaners and twist together at one end to secure. Fan out the pipe cleaners so there are four “legs” on each side of the spider. Wrap tinsel garland around the pipe cleaners and use hot glue to attach it while you wrap.

Moody Candles

Turn regular black taper candles into something more sinister by add red hot glue to the body so it looks like blood!

Mummy Treats

Take regular tin cans and wrap them in gauze with googly eyes to create a scary-good treat canister. You can also put little plants inside if you want.

Face Painting Ideas: 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Ideas for Kids

25 easy (and not so easy) Halloween face painting ideas for kids - Whether the kids want to be a cheerful clown, a gorgeous butterfly, a cute panda bear or another adorable character, you

Are you incredibly creative and artistic? If so, nice to meet you. I am neither of these things. For those of us who are not blessed with these skills, here is a list of easy DIY Halloween face painting ideas for kids. For those of you who have talents you would like to showcase, I have also included a few not so easy DIY Halloween face painting ideas.

Easy DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

1-5 of the 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

1. Sweet Little Kitten – I’m particularly fond of this Halloween face painting idea in the event of inclement weather. You can dress your little one up as a kitten of any color using a matching long sleeved top, jacket, and pants and top it off with cat ears and this adorable face painting idea.

2. Spooky Pumpkin Halloween Face – This is one of the easier Halloween face painting ideas, and you can easily customize it for multiple people by making the “pumpkin’s” mouth show different expressions. For example, here you have a “spooky” pumpkin, but you could also have a happy, sad, or maybe surprised pumpkin.

3. Friendly Dog – If your little one doesn’t have the patience to have his or her whole face painted, then this Halloween face painting idea may be perfect for you. Similar to the kitten costume, this is a great choice for colder Halloweens.

4. Scarecrow – I think this is one of those Halloween face painting ideas that looks harder than it is. Other parents will think you’re some kind of face painting Picasso when it really isn’t nearly that complicated. Plus, this costume is a unique and frugal option; you can probably make the bulk of this costume with stuff already at your home or found at your local thrift store.

5. Mischievous Pirate – Ayyy matey! Okay, I’m not fluent in “pirate” nor am I a DIY diva, but I think even I can take on this Halloween face painting idea.

6-9 of the 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

6. Wonder Woman – Confession: I kind of want to try this Halloween face painting idea on myself! Hey – who says these are just for kids?

7. Too Adorable Pig – Please see the picture in the collage above for an example of this Halloween face painting idea. Bundle your little one up in a pink jumper, paint his or her face as shown, and voila, you’ve got an adorable piglet on your hands!

8. Cat – If your little one isn’t so little any more, try this fiercer, more grown-up version of the Sweet Little Kitten (#1) Halloween face painting idea.

9. Cheerful Clown – What’s awesome about this Halloween face painting idea is that since it is a “clown” no one expects it to be perfect. It’s fine to get silly with the shapes and colors and to not be perfectly symmetrical which is great since my little one can’t hold still for more than two whole minutes, and I’m not a pro face painter.

10-13 of the 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

10. Panda – And you didn’t think your little one could get any cuter? This Halloween face painting idea is almost too adorable.

11. Spiderman – Spiderman costumes are pretty easy to find; unfortunately, most of them come with cheap plastic masks that break in about 30 seconds… hence this heroic Halloween face painting idea.

12. Pretty Butterfly – Quick and easy, this Halloween face painting idea is perfect for the face painting novice. Mix things up by letting your child pick the butterfly’s colors. See the picture in the collage above for an example of this Halloween face painting idea.

13. Precious Puppy – This is another of those Halloween face painting ideas that’s good for kids that can’t hold still (which is probably most of them) since it only covers about 1/3 of the face. Plus, it’s completely and utterly adorable… so your little one is sure to score lots of candy (enough to share with mom and dad)!

14-17 of the 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

14. Kitty – This Halloween face painting idea is the cat’s meow! Your little one will have a blast pretending to be a cat with the help of this clever costume. Please see the picture in the collage above for an example of this Halloween face painting idea.

15. Valiant Soldier – The only problem with this Halloween face painting idea? Finding your little one after trick or treating in order to wash the paint off!

16. Tiger – Walk on the wild side with this fun and ferocious Halloween face painting idea. This tiger idea is so good I think it could easily be used for occasions other than Halloween such as kids’ birthday parties, block parties, and school festivals.

17. Not Too Feroucious Lion – This Halloween face painting idea was executed using homemade paint that calls for just 3 ingredients. It’s perfect for little ones that might eat or lick at face paint.

18-21 of the 25 Easy (and Not So Easy) DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

18. Dracula – Utilize this Halloween face painting idea for the kid (or adult) who wants to don a slightly spookier costume this year. In the event that your vampire isn’t very neat, add a drop or two of red face paint for spilt blood.

19. Bat – Need a quick and simple Halloween costume? Dress your child in all black and utilize this Halloween face painting idea. If you want to get a little more complicated, do a Google search for homemade bat costumes… there are “how to” articles on making bat wings out of black umbrellas.

20. Hello Kitty – This Halloween face painting idea is perfect for the Hello Kitty fan in your life (or just about any little girl).

21. Lovable Dog – Please see the picture in the collage above for an example of this Halloween face painting idea. The next time your child asks if the family can get a dog, offer to let him pretend to be the dog instead… maybe that’ll stall him!

Not So Easy DIY Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Kids

22. Frightening Tiger – Ready to take on a more difficult face painting challenge? Try this ferocious tiger Halloween face painting idea!

23. Gorgeous Butterfly – This Halloween face painting idea for a butterfly is so beautiful your child will hate to wash it away. This idea would also work well for adult Halloween parties.

24. Scary Dinosaur – If your child is obsessed with dinosaurs, treat him or her with this Halloween face painting idea. This would also be a fun and frugal activity for a dinosaur themed birthday party.

25. Exquisite Rainbow Princess – This is one of my absolute favorite Halloween face painting ideas. It’s probably too complex and detailed for me to successfully execute, but that doesn’t make me admire it any less. This would be the perfect “cherry on top” for a princess, fairy, or pixie costume.
