I’m a Brisbane-based artist, and I’ve been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I’m very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surreal, animals and people. North Queensland is a particular favourite, and you’ll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialise in pastel on card, and acrylic on canvas, though I’m also experimenting with abstract and air brush.
I’ve been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions, and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for Class Bento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. The Retail on these sessions is RRP is $45 however I offer Clay and sip at $29 per person, and Paint and Sip sessions from $29 per person on the Cheap Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Friday and Saturday nights are also the most competitive prices found in Brisbane discounted down to $29 per person. We offer the highest quality service with artist assistants to help customers with their paintings, along with the teachers. Our assistants will also run sessions so we will have two teachers for a single session. We have the largest range of paintings available with over 80 paintings on the gallery page of Wesley Taylor Art Studios, with the painting for each week can be found on the web page.
We have some new experiences coming available with Candle making and soap making. These will also be offered at the most competitive prices to bring them into reach for everyone. We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colours, while keeping in mind for first time painting experience. Those with little more practice will create some amazing pieces

A fun night of good food, good friends, a little wine and lots of painting! Participants will be guided step by step through painting one of our many examples! Come enjoy a relaxing night and create a masterpiece of your own! ****** RESERVATIONS REQUIRED ****** 6 person minimum. There is a $100 Non- refundable deposit for all parties.

What is Paint and Sip?
We’re inviting you to paint a painting, sip some wine, and eat snacks! Your ticket purchase will cover art supplies and instruction by artist Katie Detrich. You get to pick what picture you want and what you want to paint it on ahead of the event.
When you arrive, your station will be ready to go! All you’ll need to do is check-in and get a free sample of wine from Linganore Winecellars, who will also have wine available for purchase. Katie will walk you through the process of painting, lots of snacking, laughing, and sipping! When you’re all done, you can bring your painting home with you.
Buy a glass for a good cause!
Linganore Winecellars will be providing wine tastings for free (and we thank them for that!) but we STRONGLY encourage you to buy a glass or two of wine. Why? 100% of the proceeds will go to Mount Airy Net.

Mount Airy Net operates within the town of Mount Airy, MD and serves the four counties (Carroll, Frederick, Montgomery, and Howard) that directly surround the town. They provide local help for food, clothing, shelter, utility, and other essentials.
Tips
The good news is that you really don’t need to do much! We’re supplying the art supplies, wine samples, and snacks. However, we do have a couple of tips:
1 – Leave loose clothing and accessories at home. Paint and Sip nights aren’t very messy, but it’s better to be safe than scrubbing paint off of something you love! Bell sleeves, long necklaces, and bangles are more likely to accidentally brush against a wet canvass. And in case you do get a little paint on you, we recommend wearing something you can easily throw in the washing machine.
2- Don’t over-prepare. We will be joined by a professional artist who has traced out the images beforehand. During the party, she’ll help walk you through the process. Whether you want to learn how to paint or just have fun, this is the event for you.
