In this article, I will show you how to paint a cute snowman on acrylic sheet for winter decor. This is a super easy and fun project that anyone can do. You just need some basic supplies and some imagination. You can make your snowman look however you want. You can also use acrylic sheet as a canvas, which is strong, light, and easy to hang.

By the end of this article, you will have a gorgeous snowman painting that you can show off in your home or give as a gift to someone special. Let’s get started!

What You Will Need

To paint a cute snowman on acrylic sheet for winter decor, you will need the following things:

  • An acrylic sheet of any size (I used a 10×10 inch one)
  • Acrylic paints in white, black, red, orange, blue, green, and brown
  • Paint brushes in different sizes (I used a 3/4 inch flat brush, a 1/4 inch angled brush, a size 5 round brush, and a size 1 round brush)
  • A pencil and an eraser
  • A paper towel and a cup of water
  • A paint palette or a paper plate
  • A white gel pen (optional)
  • A ruler and a pair of scissors (if you need to cut your acrylic sheet)

Step 1: Sketch Your Snowman

The first step is to sketch your snowman on the acrylic sheet using a pencil. You can use a ruler to find the center of the sheet and draw a vertical line. Then, draw two circles on the line, one bigger than the other, to make the body and the head of the snowman. Make sure to leave some room at the top and bottom of the sheet for the hat and the ground.

Next, draw the hat on top of the head. You can make it any shape or style you like. I made a simple beanie hat with a pom-pom. Then, draw the arms on the sides of the body. You can make them straight or bent, depending on how you want your snowman to pose.

Finally, draw the face of your snowman. You can make it any way you like. I made mine happy and friendly, with two dots for eyes, a carrot nose, a smiley mouth, and some rosy cheeks.

How To Make A Puffy Paint Snowman

It finally snowed last night! My toddler couldn’t wait to go outside this morning to build a snowman. After we built our snowman and warmed up with a cup of hot chocolate, my son wanted to make another snowman. It was way too cold to go back outside, so we stayed inside and created a Puffy Paint Snowman.

One of our favorite art supplies to use when we are creating our crafts for kids is our homemade puffy paint. It is so easy to make and my children love to paint with it.

Supplies For Puffy Paint Snowman:

  • Small Paper Plate
  • White Puffy Paint (Read the directions below to find out how to make your own puffy paint)
    • White Glue
    • Shaving Cream
    1. Paint the small paper plate with the white puffy paint. To make your own puffy paint, mix 2 tablespoons of shaving cream and 2 tablespoons of white glue.
    2. After the paint dries, glue on two large black buttons for the snowman’s eyes and several small black buttons for the mouth. You can also use black pom poms or beads instead of the buttons.
    3. Cut a triangle out of the orange craft foam and glue it on the center of the paper plate for the snowman’s nose. If your child is just learning how to use scissors, he or she may need hand-over-hand help because the craft foam can be difficult for little ones to cut.

This Puffy Paint Snowman craft is an easy and fun way to celebrate the first snowfall of the year especially when it is too cold to go outside… again!
