As soon as the holidays are over, retail wastes no time before jumping into Valentine’s Day. And when they start coming out with those pink and red displays, we roll our eyes a little. At most, we’ll pick up some treats for ourselves, but no way do we think about making plans.

However, these guys may be onto something because, love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day sure likes to sneak upon us. And grabbing a box of chocolates on our way home from work…well, it’s a habit we’re trying to quit.

Perhaps you’ve looked into date night ideas already. Maybe you haven’t given Valentine’s Day a second thought. But we guarantee that every guide you pull up will mention couples’ paint and sip parties when you do. And as the original Paint Nite®, we very much heart the idea.

So, if you’re unfamiliar with them or uncertain whether they’re for you, we’re here to spill all the tea. Because we may be biased, but we think they’re pretty great!

What Is a Paint and Sip Party?

Completed painting at couples Paint Nite in a bar

There’s a paint and sip party, and then there’s Paint Nite. Both involve a step-by-step painting tutorial and painting techniques to create a beautiful piece of art. Both involve drinking (traditionally wine). But only Paint Nite works with local bars and restaurants and has original Valentine’s Day painting ideas submitted by its artists.

We also have three ways for you to experience our sip and paint parties: in-person, virtual (live), and on-demand (pre-recorded).

The aim of the game here is to:

  • Get out
  • Try something new
  • Have fun
  • Spend quality time with your special someone
  • Make memories

In a sense, you can make these Valentine’s Day events your own. We don’t think of them as painting classes, but that’s not to say you won’t learn anything—you will! Whether you want to focus and impress your date or fool around and have some flirtatious fun, both are totally doable and sure to be a great time.

What To Expect at a Valentine’s Painting Date Night?

You can expect a lively and entertaining evening filled with creativity, laughter, and oh-so-much fun. An experienced artist will lead the way, so even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush, you’ll have a masterpiece in no time…well, that’s the plan!

Bring your sense of humor and creativity, and leave your worries at the door. All your art supplies are on us, from canvas to paint. And the cherry on top? You’ll be walking away with a memento of all your romantic fun.

Acrylic Enamel

Acrylic Enamel

There are so many accessories you can use and techniques you can apply that’ll get you to enjoy making your fun Valentine’s Day painting. Besides, most of these techniques don’t require an advanced skill level.

One of these is using acrylic enamel while painting. Acrylic enamel is raised from the painting, giving a sensory appeal to the artwork and making it more of a 3-D project than just a 2-D one.

Watercolor Paintings

Now, we’ll talk about the simple or complicated watercolor paintings, the base of any Valentine’s Day DIY project that includes paint.

Kids love them, and adults love them, and most people who love canvas creations will have so much fun making watercolor paintings.

You can put anything down on a painting using watercolors! So, we’ll run a few ideas, traditional and eccentric, by you.
