Creative Connections Art Classes
Senior Services invites adults age 60 and older to explore the arts through classes being offered FREE OF CHARGE at the Intergenerational Center for Arts & Wellness located at 114 W. 30th Street, Winston-Salem 27105 (behind Senior Services). Professional artists will offer visual art classes, acting lessons, and drumming instruction in a safe, in-person environment.

Authoring Action’s signature “Writing To The Senses Creative Writing and Speak Processes” teaches and shares language in spaces where issues are prevalent and there is an immediate need for positive human development and change.
With this approach, we will exercise a “First Ink Discussion” of the prompt TRUTH, write three impactful monologues, and perform each piece through the art of Spoken Word.

Oil Pastel Pumpkins

Pumpkins, in the Genus Cucurbita, are native to Mexico. They are one of the oldest cultivated plants, used as far back as 7000 BC! During harvest time, we are able to find a wide variety, not only for cooking but also for aesthetics. The colors and textures are simply mesmerizing! We will use observational drawing skills to create a beautiful oil pastel painting.

Zumba Gold Classes

Zumba Gold is the Zumba Fitness program that is designed for the older active participant or the newcomer to exercise or to Zumba Fitness. It uses the same Latin and international rhythms as the Zumba Fitness class but does not include any high-impact moves.
It is perfect for anyone who may have mobility issues because of injury, age, weight, or simply because they are new to exercise. It is easy to learn and it can be as gentle or as energetic as you wish. Everyone works at their own level and it is a great way to start your Zumba Fitness journey.
