Summer Break Kids Camp (one week)Tuscaloosa County

March 13th thru March 17th (Monday thru Friday 11:00 am thru 3:00 pm)Jefferson County March 27th thru 31st. So many fun activities planned such as Terrarium making, Magnet making, gourd Painting, Tie dye, Pet rocks, Idea labs, Pouring/ Gourd Painting/creative drawings/ paint pots-add plants and much more. Friday we will celebrate our last day with a paint & pizza party. lunch is served daily. cost for week $175 AGES 8+ (parents welcome for younger kids)

Christa Garner of Big Sky Farm Photography (Columbiana) is a photographer of art. She has a great eye and captures your heart in her work. Her creativity is about all of her farm animals right there on their family farm. You can see the love she captures in her photos of goats, horses, chickens and of course her alpacas. She amazes me in how she captures the light, the skies and the personalities of all her farm critters. Her prices range from $10 to $100. Her work is one of a kind. Kiara McKenzie of Storytime Art (Bessemer) is a local artist with amazing drawing skills.

She has a gift that is shared with us as well as her community.

Kiki makes sets of canvas’s ready to paint. She pre-draws any theme you request in just minutes and puts them into a fabulous ready-to-paint kit. She is a passionate,strong, young artist and entrepreneur and brings an added excitement to the Good Art Company.

Cheryl Harris of Cheryl Harris Art (Alabaster) is an artist that has a flock of angels she paints. She uses acrylic paint, brushes and palette knife creating different mediums. Each one has a different heart, a different personality, revealing a different spirit in every one of them. Cheryl paints series of different collections. Look for her uplifting butterfly series this spring.

Dan Tipton of Dan Tipton Art (Atalla, Al) Married to the wonderful Misty Tipton. Misty and Dan have six children together.

Dan is an artist of all mediums. Dan has a background in fine arts and has mastered drawing and painting. He is often commissioned for his portraits of individual, family and pets. He also draws and paints amazing landscapes as well as wild life. His new home has allowed room for a studio, so look for some great new work, he paints or draws daily. This excercise is what makes him such a great artist, he is learning everyday.

Dan is also an instructor here teaching drawing: beginning, advanced and one on one classes. Be sure to sign up for his class today.

Juliana (Jules) Green of Juliana’s Jules (Lakeview) is a local, passionate artist and teacher. Jules has been involved with art for most of her life. She works with mediums such as watercolor, acrylic paints , pencils and has had many years with acrylic pour painting. She is a born natural and this comes through in her teachings. Jules is a new, young mother of one. She has been working with children at Lakeview Elementary as an art teacher we are lucky she will be teaching various class’s here on Saturdays. Sign up today.

Michelle Lucas Ramirez of Magpies, (Vance) A local favorite artist that is skilled in many different ways. She has been an artist for most of her lfetime. She will surprise you with a beautiful painting or craft and can make just about anything she puts her mind to. Michelle has recently discovered acrylic paint pouring and does a fantastic job with them. She mixes her mediums at times and has a large selection of all these lovely different pour types available in the art gallery.

Sheena Totherow of Naked Cicada Art (Adger) is an artistic entomology enthusiast and nature lover, who loves creation whimsical jewelry from beautiful insects. No live insects are harmed making her jewelry, most of them are found on daily walks but some are found in her neighbors greenhouse. Her floral designs are made from pressed flowers from her garden. She calls herself the naked cicada, because she loves that sweet southern music they make on summer nights. She still enjoys the thrill of a cicada shell hunt deep in the woods. Sheena will be in the classroom teaching her jewelry making class. Be sure to sign up.

Walter Moore of The Walter Moore Ape series (Homewood) is an artist with a fantastic variety of Ape Art. Walter works with ink/gel/acrylics and different surfaces such as canvas and repurposed cardboard. He mixes his media, his hundreds of apes are unique, one of a kind apes. Walter has a brilliant way of drawing and painting these apes doing cool, funny everyday things. You can find his art spread out among local shops and boutiques in the Birmingham area. We are happy to be included as a place you can find his creative work. Stop by and APE out, you will be glad you did.

Artists / llustrater Jackie Miller (Bessemer) is an area local artist. Jackie and his wife Tiffany are a refreshing couple that I met while they walking all their dogs. They are a friendly couple that lives just down the street. Jackie does a great job illustrating books and has another under the wing he is currently working on. Meet 9 year old artist Emory “Emmy” Dewberry and Camden (Cammie) Hall. These two gals have been around the art world since birth. Emory is my granddaughter and Cammie is my neice, they are best friends. There work consists of drawings, paintings, jewelry, magnets and more.

These girls are constantly updating their inventory. They also help teach the kids classes when available. Start em young!

Bring out your creativity at the Martens Center, with the artists from Unveiled Creations. They will guide you to create beautiful canvas creations to take home. Each parent and child participant will create a canvas that will combine to make a larger picture.
