Steps to shade a reindeer

Are the deer eating your flowers? Do you have a partly shaded area where you’d like to have a meadow? This seed mix has been specifically formulated using native species that like part shade and are not so palatable to deer! Please note that if deer are hungry enough they will eat just about anything however the plants in this mix are very low on their list of favourite foods.

For step-by-step instructions see our How to Grow a Meadow information pages.

About our Seed Mixes

All of our wildflower seed mixes are designed on a “seeds sown per square foot” ratio of approximately 65% flowers and 35% grasses, this way you’ll get exactly the amount of seed you need for the area you wish to grow your meadow. Our seed mixes include written instructions and are ready to plant!

Our Deer Resistant Part Shade Mix contains these wildflowers and native grasses:

Step 1

Use the ellipse tool to draw the face, and then use the pencil tool to draw the ear.

Add a highlight to the face by drawing an offset ellipse of a lighter shade.

Draw an antler with the pencil tool, and then use the width tool to add dimension to the antlers.

Step 5

Copy the antler and ear, and use the reflect tool to create a mirror image.
