We are now introducing electric trucks for regional long-haul, with power, range and charging capacity for effortless daily operations. The new generation is part of a complete solution that will open the door to the electrified transport landscape wide for a vast number of customers and applications. With 624 kWh of batteries installed, Scania provides the means for a major shift regarding electric trucks and their operability in regional long-haul operations. Ranges vary with weight, configuration and topography, but a 4×2 tractor with six batteries can expect up to 350 km between each charging, with an average speed of 80 km/h on motorways. The charging capability is up to 375 kW, which means that an hour of charging will add some 270 to 300 km of range, as a rule of thumb. The continuous power output level for a Scania 45 R or S is 410 kW, equivalent to some 560 hp. Scania’s new BEV truck generation is based on classic Scania cornerstones such as modularity, sustainability and a total operating economy with the potential to match or even exceed what can be expected from conventional trucks. And the latest electric Scania trucks are accompanied by all the support with operational factors and services that make them complete solutions, with charging, finance, insurance and maintenance all in place. #electrification

Celebrating innovation and knowledge at Scania Innovation Day In a day filled with curiosity and creativity, our diverse teams from Research & Development, Production & Logistics, IT, Sales & Marketing, Ventures and New Business, MAN and Navistar came together to celebrate groundbreaking ideas and cutting-edge research. With about 3000 colleagues on-site and online, we showcased 60 research and innovation initiatives and covered on stage topics like business innovation for a circular economy, sustainability with net zero focus, and insights from Scania China. Erik Dahlberg, Scania Director of Research and Innovation welcomed participants to “celebrate the spirit of creativity, collaboration and curiosity that drives us forward in creating a sustainable future.” Our CEO Christian Levin emphasized the importance of this day, not just in sparking creativity, but also in ensuring top-notch deliveries to our customers and creating a positive impact on our business and the environment. “It gives so much energy to see the fantastic creativity and ingenuity of this group – that is contributing to the solutions that we eventually bring to market,” comments Christian. On the subject of net zero, guest speaker Amanda Jackson, Head of Group Sustainability & Group Public Affairs at PostNord Group, one of the biggest transporters in Sweden, was present to share her organisation’s net zero ambitions. They have a group-wide transformation programme where they are accelerating towards reaching their targets. Svenja Escherle, a PhD student from MAN, won the Three Minute PhD contest – a year of mentorship with Magnus Mackaldener, Senior VP Electrification Development, Scania. Her research on human touch and automated trucking captivated us all, reminding us of the powerful intersection between technology and humanity. Innovation Day is a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries, embracing change, and transforming the way we work. With an innovative mindset and collaborative spirit, we will continue to drive Scania forward, keeping us at the forefront of innovation in our industry. #InnovationDay #Innovation

Micaela Labrador Aranguren found Scania Student Intro (SSI) to be surprisingly good for her. “I did not see myself in the automotive industry at first, but I am really glad I was accepted into the SSI programme. I plan to do my final thesis here at Scania.” After completing her BSc in Chemical Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Micaela pursued her Master’s at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. During a career fair, Scania introduced the SSI programme, designed for first-year Master’s students, and it turned out to be an excellent fit for her. She did her summer job at Scania’s engine development department, mainly with tests of Scania’s advanced turbo technology. “I did simulations to validate the boundary conditions of different test methods when measuring computational fluid dynamics.” As a chemical engineer, Micaela values the opportunity to combine the fields of chemistry and physics in a real application, such as Scania’s latest engine. “I was both surprised and very impressed about how super-efficient the Scania engines are and the overall care for details in their products.” She was also pleased about the positive spirit and for all the support. “I think that what makes Scania a super good company is that everyone I have met feels like it is their company. There are a lot of happy people here.” Curious about SSI? Click the link for more info and apply to kickstart your own journey with us! https://bit.ly/48htJf8

We take pride in being a sustainability leader. We’ve even made it our reason to exist. It is therefore with great pleasure we let you know that Scania has been rewarded a gold rating by EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of sustainability ratings for businesses. “The rating obviously means a lot to us, as we’ve made it our purpose to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system. Being a sustainability leader is a question of taking both societal responsibility and a key strategy in the rapidly changing business landscape. Kudos to all fantastic Scania employees and their efforts behind this reward,” says Evalena Falck, Head of Strategic Account Management. The demand from customers and transport buyers on sustainability issues increases every year. “This type of third-party, unbiased, rating is frequently required to partake in tender processes and other business requests. At Scania, we’re glad to see this development where more and more companies recognise their responsibility. To continue to use the Ecovadis recognition in dialogue with our customers and partners makes a difference,” says Falck. Ecovadis bases its rating on four key categories: Environmental impact, labour and human rights standards, ethics and procurement practices. Ecovadis evaluates more than 75,000 companies worldwide. Scania is given the gold rating as its score is among the top 5 per cent of all rated companies. #sustainability

Discovering excellence in human-robot collaboration at Scania Oskarshamn’s Kaross division, where the bodywork for the cabs is crafted, innovation and precision intertwine. Central to this is Richard Brodin, a Robot Specialist who masters the art of automation. “It was the collaboration between humans and robots and the possibilities the technology adds to contemporary production that appealed to me.” The 287 robots and a production process continually refined by Richard and his team, add to the experience. Richard’s journey with Scania began after high school. He soon moved on from Team Leader and found his way to Basic Skills, a role focused on the introduction of new employees. Soon after, he was transferred to Robot Training. “I had never worked with robots before, but it went really well as I had two colleagues who taught me a lot.” With a newfound passion for automation, Richard began vocational training. The programme delved deep into automation technology and the art of robot programming. “When I had finished my education, I got a job at the tech department working with robots. It was a ‘development position.’ I learned the daily work the robot team is responsible for, and I got a permanent spot in the team early on. This is where I have worked since then, and I thoroughly enjoy it,” Richard says. When asked about the most rewarding aspect of his job, Richard emphasizes the variety. He’s involved in long-term projects and dynamic assignments that directly impact production and the technicians working alongside him on the line. The collaborative spirit among his colleagues, whether they’re on the production floor or engaged in implementing new technologies, fuels his passion. For Richard, Scania has provided a platform for personal development and the exploration of diverse career paths. “The opportunities are excellent, both for development or if you’d rather take on new challenges. I had a bit of a winding road before I found where I truly belong, and the fun work that I do today.” #Innovation #automation

Major Arc® trucks can be mounted on most of the decks available in the market. Each base plate comes with eight holes making it compatible with old-school and modern mounts. However, the hole size should be standard in each deck. We strongly recommend that every buyer confirms the following drop-through hole size requirement.

Major Arc® trucks can also be installed on top mount decks. When it is installed on a top mount, if you need to replace the bushings, the truck needs to be removed from the board. Unless the top mount is a pintail, we always recommend the use of risers, you will still get a much lower ride than the one you had with standard trucks.

With Major Arc® trucks you can cruise on the path of your choice, enjoying the stability of your longboard with the agility of the smallest cruiser.

Many trucks that offer the ability of carving or a larger steering angle, come with a higher center of gravity (High Ride). Major Arc® has a low center of gravity, much lower than conventional trucks. You’ll notice that the height of a drop-through deck with our trucks is equivalent to the diameter of the wheel, making it very close to the ground.

A lower center of gravity provides a more stable ride and effortless pushing and foot-braking. You will find yourself able to make very tight turns, in a more relaxed stance, to the point that grabbing your boards – while carving – becomes more a matter of style than a real need.

We want to prove that comfortable rides can still be a lot of fun.

In the initial design stage, our priority was on the bushing setup. We aimed to simplify the complicated mechanical structure as much as possible. Following the instruction manual, the user can disassemble/reassemble the truck, and use the normal T-Tool to adjust the tightness of the truck.

The simplicity of the mechanism allows for much easier maintenance. We decided to use standard bushings as they offer better durability than springs and they are definitely easier and cheaper to replace for customization.

We care about providing you the best experience in the long run. Major arc® trucks could be the simplest multi-link longboard trucks in the world.
