Drawing a piglet in easy steps

Before we begin the pig drawing tutorial, you will want to make sure you have the basic materials. Some quality drawing pencils, erasers, and a sketching pad are all you need. Please don’t feel like you have to rush to your nearest craft supplies store and buy a ton of stuff. However, if you want to color your piggy drawing in, try out these colored pencils.


How to Draw Piglet from Winnie the Pooh

In this simple and cute drawing guide we will teach you how to draw Piglet from Winnie the Pooh, one of the main characters of the stories about Winnie the Pooh. Piglet first appeared in the “Winnie the Pooh” book in 1926, and since then he became a constant participant in almost all cartoons, books, and stories about Winnie the Pooh. Piglet – is a very modest, shy little pig who always accompanies Winnie. So, let’s start this tutorial and find out how to draw Piglet from Winnie the Pooh!

Step 1

First sketch the outlines of Piglet’s head. Notice that this shape is very similar to a pear. The same outlines of the head were in our lesson on how to draw Karlsson.

Step 2

Continue to sketch out the contours of the body of Piglet. Draw the torso in the form of an oval. The shape of the torso should be similar to a bean.


How to Draw a Pig

I’m so excited to share with your this pig tutorial! Although there are a variety of pig colors, our example will be of a traditional pink pig.

To follow along with the drawing tutorial, please use the blue lines as your reference. Blue lines indicate the step you are on. For example, you will see that the snout and mouth are in blue on the second step. That means you should be drawing those two things at that time.

Easy Step-by-Step Pig Drawing Tutorial

Let’s begin our pig drawings! Follow the steps below to create your cute piggy cartoon. For this guide, we will be using a sitting pig.

Warning: This pig is almost too cute to handle!

Step 1: Draw a Pig Snout

The first step is to draw the snout of your pig. To do this, draw a horizontal oval. Be sure to leave enough space above and below the snout for the rest of your pig face and body.

Step 2: Draw the Nostrils and Mouth of Your Pig

The second step is to draw in more details of your pig face. Draw two thin ovals inside the first wide oval you had just created. These will finish off the nose of your pig.

Add in a curved smile beneath the nose to create your pig’s mouth.

Step 3: Shade in the Pig Nostrils

The snout is one of the most recognizable parts of a pig so we can are going to show it a little love! For the third step, you will want to color in the nostrils of your piggy’s nose.

Step 4: Draw the Eyes of Your Pig

Time for the eyes! To draw your pig’s eyes, create two ovals on either side of the nose. As shown above, you will want to ensure your eyes are of roughly equal distance from your pig’s nose.

After you finish drawing the overall outline of your pig’s eyes, draw an oval of the same shape inside each of the first ovals. These will become the pupils of your pig’s eyes.

Step 5: Shade in the Eyes

Next you will shade in the eyes of your pig. You can use whatever color you want, but I recommend simply shading them in with your pencil if this is your first pig drawing.

Step 6: Draw Pig Ears

To draw your pig ears, create two circular shapes that taper in towards the eyes of your pig. Please see the above illustration for reference.

Step 7: Draw the Face Shape of Your Pig

Now that we have the details of your pig’s face down, it is time to put all those cute features inside a head! For this step, please draw a head outline around what you had just drawn. See the above illustration for reference.

Step 8: Draw the Body of Your Pig

To draw the body of your pig, create a line on either side of the bottom of your pig’s head. This line should taper in towards the bottom of your pig head, come out a little as you go down further, and then taper back in again slightly.

Now, it’s time for some cute little pig arms! For this step, create two arms like the ones shown above.

Step 10: Draw the Top of Your Pig’s Legs

Now, you will want to draw two curved lines connected to the sides of your pig’s body, as shown above. This will later become the top of your piggy’s legs.

Step 11: Draw the Feet and Bottom of Your Pig

To create both the feet and your pig’s bootie, you will want to draw a line that connects from one leg all the way to the other leg, as shown above.

Step 12: Draw a Pig Tail

Oh, the pig tail! This might be everyone’s favorite part. To create your pig tail, make a swirly line coming out from the side of your pig.
