Do You Want to Draw a Snowman? Learn How To Draw Olaf At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Earlier today, we shared a look into the Animation Academy at The Magic of Disney Animation. Recently, a few characters from Disney’s “Frozen” were added into the rotation of Disney characters our character artists teach guests how to draw every day.

With the popularity of “Frozen” – which happens to be released on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack tomorrow, March 18 – it’s no surprise that Olaf has become one of the most requested characters at the experience. During our filming, character artist Brian James Fichtner was gracious enough to give us a step-by-step lesson on how to draw this lovable snowman-come-to-life. Grab a pencil, paper and check out the full tutorial below!

We drew Tangled last time we were at the Animation Academy at DCA. The artist asked a trivia question about the Tangled movie and I won his drawing, way cool! I’m going next month. I hope we get to draw Olaf, I love him!

Brian is our favorite! We were having so much fun drawing with him, that we did it four times in a row!. Can’t wait to go back and draw some more!

No matter how many times I go to Disney, I find something new every time. Really enjoyed drawing class. Thanks Disney!

Thanks for this! The Animation Academy is my favorite thing at Disney World and Disneyland.

I love Animation Academy at DCA. I try to go as many times as I can, and always recommend it to my friends. Just last night, my friend and I missed Olaf by 3 minutes. I was soooo bummed but Mickey was next, and you can never go wrong with Mickey. I’ll just have to go again to get Olaf. SUCH a hardship, I assure you.

My daughter and I loved Animation Academy! Still have our Minnie Mouse pictures, will always be one of my favorite memories of Disney

Thanks for sharing, Amanda!

I keep asking for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. He would be great to draw there! Hopefully by the next time we visit….

Animation academy is one of my favorite things to do at both HS and DCA. I have no artistic ability but somehow my characters(usually) come out great at the academy.

Always a must do when we’re there. Animation Academy is an awesome experience!

I love Animation Academy and Brain James Fichtner is my favorite animator to draw with! I won one of his Mickey drawings during a class and it’s still hanging on my wall!

What a wonderful concept for guests to enjoy! We really enjoyed watching both our children create their animations aboard the Disney Fantasy last August over at Animator’s Studio. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Jackie

Thanks, Jackie!
