Experiment with some cool watercolor techniques to create the flower petals and oh-so-adorable creatures that bring this springtime wall to life. You can change the scope of the project based on how many kids you have working on this collaborative art project.
43 Collaborative Art Projects That Bring Out Everyone’s Creative Side
When everyone gives a little, the results are pure magic!
May 10, 2023
Art is about expressing your individuality, but you can also make something pretty incredible when people pool their talents. Regardless of whether you are into painting, sculpture, doodling, or mosaics, there is truly something for everyone on this list. Some art ideas incorporate nature while others are messy enough to warrant a little outdoor time. These collaborative art projects work for kids, teens, and adults alike while providing results everyone can be proud of!
Embellish your thumbprints
Art projects like this one are so cute and simple yet so impressive! Each child simply makes a thumbprint on a small piece of paper, then turns it into a face with black marker. Finally, assemble them into a rainbow collage and frame the impressive results.
Stack pom-poms into a tree
Yarn pom-poms are easy to make and are also an excellent way to use up scraps of yarn. Have each student contribute one or a few, then glue them to a Styrofoam form to make a sweet little tree.

Let’s get started!
First allow me to introduce my co-host, Liam. He is my rambunctious, loving little man who adores being my #1 party assistant. If you’ve been following my blog, you most likely have seen him hamming it up in a party or two. He is my youngest of three boys and his larger than life personality knows no bounds!
Mommy and Me Painting Party Ideas with Social Artworking
Liam and I started the party decorating with the backdrop. Liam dipped his hand in paint and created a lovely backrop that coordinated perfectly with the Social Artworking Handprint Flowers design. With a few brush strokes, his handprints became blooming flowers.
Doesn’t it look great?
We carried on the finger painting theme for our cupcake toppers. Liam created small fingerprint and thumbprint flowers which I cut out and glued to paper straws. I added grass cupcake liners for our little cupcake garden.
We also crafted a couple of handpainted party favors with my Sizzix Big Shot (affiliate link) and the Party Popper Die.
I also crafted some Paper Flowers for my rosette cake.
I added a few glasses for us to share some sparkling cider; it is, after all, a Celebration! I also hung a pink tassel garland and added a few jumbo paper lanterns under my table.
We set up the Social Artworking easels, paint, brushes, and canvases for the guests.
Handprint Flowers
Liam and I painted the Handprint Flowers project beforehand so that it could be the centerpiece for our table. You can see how easy it was in my quick little video here! (it’s only a minute long, so please check it out!)
Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE!
I love this little design. You can easily change the name to customize it for your own needs! How great would this painting be for Grandma?
And that’s it! Our Mommy and Me Painting Party! Thank you for joining us and I hope you are inspired to check out all the fun designs over at Social Artworking and Order Online for a DIY crafternoon!
