Green Forest Art Studio currently teaches weekly drawing classes for children to hundreds of students in the East Bay (Fremont, Union City, Newark).
We encourage your child to join us in exploring the world of art.
Birthday Parties
We host full-service birthday parties with canvas painting and clay scuplture options. We have a variety of age appropriate projects for you to choose from. Not sure what activity you’re interested in? Feel free to give us a call.
2024 Summer Art Camp
Each week explores a different theme. For 2024, all sessions will be in-person. Camp is held Monday to Friday (morning and afternoon options available).
Our Approach
All instructors at Green Forest Art Studio are highly skilled, practicing artists with either a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. They have been selected for their ability & enthusiasm in working with students of all ages.
We provide individualized instruction in a warm, relaxing setting, allowing students to develop appreciation for the art-making process, and self confidence that will help them in all areas of life. Our low student-to-teacher ratios provide effective education and emphasize personal attention.
Fine Art Inspired
At Green Forest Art Studio, students in our children’s art classes explore art using an exciting variety of materials and art-making techniques including Drawing, Painting (Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil), Sketch, Mixed Media, Pastels, Clay, Sculpture, Chinese Painting, Print Art, and More.
Our teachers are passionate about helping their students become artists, and they want to impart the passion that drives them into the hearts of those they seek to inspire.
Kids Ages 5 – 7
Kid’s Art | $199
In this class, your child will be introduced to basic art techniques, which are the building blocks that will provide a solid foundation for future art lovers and artists. Children will explore the great world are art using oil pastels, clay, paper and paint. This unique learning experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring creativity!
Little Tikes Cartooning | $199
Students enrolled in this class will learn the basics of drawing cartoons and superheroes. The step-by-step instruction in this class will teach the students valuable lessons in how to draw, and give them the tools to begin to draw their own characters!
Children Ages 8-12
Multi-Media Art | $235
Children will explore the world of both two and three dimensional media, such as pencil, colored pencil, acrylic paint and clay. Students will learn by following the teacher in a step-by-step method that allows the child to see projects take shape from beginning to end.
Children’s Painting | $235
All students in this class will develop a further understanding of painting and drawing techniques needed to create masterpieces. Each session focuses on a specific artist or style. Children will learn by watching demonstrations by their educated and talented instructor, and then applying these techniques learned to creating their masterpieces.
Painting & Drawing | $235
This class is perfect for children who want to learn how to paint & draw! During the session, your child will create at least one drawing and a painting on canvas. The children will learn with step-by-step instruction how to draw, mid colors and apply brushstrokes to create their masterpieces. Each session will have a different theme, usually inspired by a famous artist or style.
Clay & Ceramics with Pottery Wheel | $225
In this class, children are all welcome to learn and create amazing ceramics of their own. This class will incorporate both the pottery wheel and traditional clay building techniques to create a variety of pieces with guidance from the instructor, a pottery expert.
Design, Sew & Create | $250
In this classes beginner and intermediate students are welcome. All students will create at least one garment during the class session, while becoming masters of the crafts of hand sewing, pattern cutting, machine sewing and more!
Sewing for Beginners | $250
Don’t be intimidated! Beginners are encouraged to become experts during this class. All students will create at least one garment during the class session, while becoming masters of the crafts of hand sewing, pattern cutting, machine sewing and more!
Drawing, Cartooning, Superheroes (Ages 8+) | $235
During each 8-week session, students in this class will learn valuable skills, such as, drawing human anatomy and musculature, that will help them to create superheroes and cartoons of their own. Children will complete multiple completed drawings using colored pencils, markers and graphite.
Manga & Anime (Ages 9+) | $235
In this class, students will learn how to draw characters from their favorite anime series or manga. With the help of their instructor, all will learn about different facial expressions, poses and hairstyles to create characters they know, or have imagined themselves.
Comic Book & Anime Art (Ages 10+) | $235
In this class, students will learn how to draw characters from their favorite anime series or manga, as well as from comic books! With the help of their instructor, all will learn about different facial expressions, poses and hairstyles to create characters they know, or have imagined themselves.
Art on the Spectrum (Ages 8+) | $275
This course is geared towards students with learning disabilities, who will be encouraged to explore different techniques, while creating their own unique art projects. Art lessons have countless benefits including the following: strengthening focus and attention span, increasing self expression, engaging the visual area of the brain and improving the capacity for learning. In this small group class, students will be able to follow along with the instructor’s guidance to create their artwork. They will be exposed to a variety of art materials, such as, pencils, paint, clay, and oil pastel. We understand that all students learn at different speeds, so each will be given the attention and guidance they need. We welcome artists with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, ASD, PDD and more.
Teens Ages 13-18
Teen Art (painting and drawing) | $250
Students will be taught in a workshop format that is based on assignments from the instructor. This class will help teens discover their creativity, individuality and unique style. Students will begin to work toward building an original body of work that can be used as a portfolio that will include paintings, drawings and mixed media art.
Teen Drawing | $235
In this “open-studio” style drawing class, teens may create artwork from their own inspirations. The instructor will guide students to reaching their greatest potential and making works of art to be proud of using a variety of techniques and media.
Teen Sculpture | $225
In this class both beginner and advanced teens are welcome to learn and create amazing ceramics of their own. This class will incorporate both the pottery wheel and traditional clay building techniques to create a variety of pieces with guidance from the instructor, a pottery expert.
