Buying a Canvas
Choosing the right canvas can make a big difference to your next painting. That’s why we’ve pulled together a list of questions and answers to help make sure that you buy the right one.
What are the different types of Canvas?
Canvases come in a range of shapes and sizes. They are typically Square or Rectangle, but you can get custom shapes depending on your need. They also come in either Pre-Stretched or Panels. Pre-Stretched is where it has been wrapped around bars and pinned on the back, and Panels are where the canvas has been glued to a heavy-duty cardboard panel.
What size Canvas do I need?
Canvases come in various sizes with different names, and which one you need depends on what you’re trying to paint. If you’re not sure what you’re trying to paint, then we’d recommend sticking to a medium-sized Canvas at around 8 inches x 10 inches or 16 inches x 20 inches.
Does Canvas quality matter?
Yes. A bad canvas can completely ruin the finish of your painting. The good news is that all our Canvases are high quality.
