Quick and easy butterfly painting in acrylics

I started making butterflies in acrylic for a more durable and bright finish to my painting.

Painting Acrylic

I started making butterflies in acrylic for a more durable and bright finish to my painting.

I only used two paintbrushes

  • flat one to spread wing color
  • a thin one to do the detail

Of course I have my acrylic paint and watercolor paper (ok that may sound like a big twist but I need water absorbent paper)

COLORS:
I used lemon yellow, yellow ochre, burnt sienna and vermillion for the wings
I used black and white for the lines and white dots

Process

You will see how I did most of it, no specific techniques, just wet on wet spreading and evening out the paint and making thick black marks and pure white dots. Very easy, simple! After the pictures, let me know what you think and how you think it looks! Thank you!

I am satisfied!

I love how it turned out. Pretty happy with it. It’s a simple process, flat colors first then pattern. Try it with different butterfly patterns!

I may definitely try to make more patterns! Stay tuned and thank you so much for viewing my art! I hope you like them!
