January 4 · DEMONSTRATION · 2:00pm – 5:00pm CST

Week 1: Cloudy Day Snow

In the first week, I will lead a demonstration and paint-along of painting a scene depicting a snowy landscape on a cloudy day. This will serve as an introduction to the course. Participants will have the opportunity to join and paint-along as they apply the techniques demonstrated to create their own paintings. The diffused light from the overcast sky creates soft shadows and muted tones, making it an ideal starting point for beginners.

January 10 · Join a feedback session.

During the group feedback sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback and support from me and your fellow classmates. These sessions will be conducted live on Zoom and are included in the cost of the course.

Week 2: Sunny Day Snow

In the second week, I will lead a demonstration of painting a scene featuring snow in direct sunlight. This session will provide participants with insights into handling crisp shadows and bright highlights.

Week 3: Snow Storm

Week three will focus on the challenge of painting a snowstorm. I will lead a demonstration on capturing the dynamic and atmospheric elements of a snowstorm, including falling snow, blustery winds, and low visibility. Participants will have the opportunity to participate by painting along guided by the techniques demonstrated.

Week 4: Snow at Last Light

In the final week, we will tackle the most advanced scenario – painting snow at last light, also known as the “golden hour.” I will lead a demonstration on how to capture the unique beauty of this fleeting moment when warm, rich hues bathe the snow.
