The painting inspired by tropical rainforest.
There are so many incredible plants – strikingly beautiful orchids, bird of paradise flowers, exotic trees, bromeliads and Amazon water lilies in the world’s diverse rainforests.
The tropical rainforest is an exciting ecosystem in itself, filled with exotic beautiful display of various orchid flowers that house their own supply of water, and plants that can reach up to 30 feet in height. There are some unique plants that live on the branches of large trees. The aerial plants in the tropical rainforest collect their nourishment from the air. These plants are famous for having the air roots.

About the process:
This piece was started with no preconceived notion of how the painting would be completed. This is by design, as there is something magical about the painting being spontaneous, with only a certain amount of control over what the final result will be.

Only high quality artist grade acrylic paint and mediums are used.
The painting is hand signed and dated on the back.

Orchid is a bold textured painting inspired by the beauty of the flower of the same name.
Samuel has an orchid with beautiful purple and yellow colours in its flower which was blooming at the time this painting was created.
Samuel wanted to include a painting inspired by this in his abstract exhibition at the Brick Lane Gallery in March 23.
Samuel began with a surface of cracking paste and pumice paste. He lovingly painted a close up still life … of an Orchid, but deciding this didn’t look right the next morning, abandoned the design and stuck to his favourite type of abstract painting. Chaotic burst of colour using drips, flicks and sponges.
Orchid is fixed within a black stained oak frame measuring 44cm x 55cm x 3.5cm.

Samuel Deacon is a young talent from the United Kingdom whose paintings have been featured in solo and group shows nationally. Working as a wine cellar designer and as a graduate of Interior Architecture, Deacon developed his painting style in abstract work full of bold color palettes and layers of texture. Using primarily acrylics, he is inspired by themes of nature and emotion which he then transforms onto the canvas as energetic pieces of art.
