Hydrangeas In Gold Crystal
Besides zinnias, hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers. Lush, large, hearty and colorful, hydrangeas exude a richness that almost feels magical. As a child, I recall seeing a thriving hydrangea bush in my aunt’s side yard. Every summer, it was full of purple and blue explosive flowers that to me, seemed Wizard of Oz-like in its appearance. Perhaps that’s how this particular painting had its inception, sprung from my imagination and set in a gold crystal vase on a red velvet background. This original painting is sold but was done in acrylic on a 24×12 gallery wrapped canvas.
